More new Jewelry!

I mentioned a bit ago that I was remaking a lot of my old brooch designs into necklaces, well I've got more new ones to show you!

BTW, in case you are wondering why the lack of posts about the horse and mule- most of this month I've been pretty sick with a couple of respiratory infections that I. Could. Not. Shake. I'm so sick of antibiotics, but without them I wouldn't be feeling better now. Hopefully, the rest of the fall will be warmish and I'll be able to ride again.

More new earring with tutorial!

Another pair of new earrings! These feature mystic blue quartz crystal points that have been electroplated to increase their beauty and glitzy appeal!

How to:
Find two similarly sized crystals and make sure they fit into your end caps before you glue them. Slide a head pin into your end cap and make a small loop on the other end to secure it in place. I like to plop in a drop of E6000 for extra holding power. Let dry. Glue the crystal into place-check to make sure you have about the same amount of crystal showing on each earring. Let dry and then attach your ear wire.

New Earrings

I like to buy jewelry materials from Etsy sellers because I can often still get good prices but in smaller quantities than from my usual wholesalers like Rings & Things (but I still love you R & T - you guys have been my go to suppliers for over 20 years!)

I am a total sucker for shiny, sparkly natural materials so I was sucked into needing to buy these lovely quartz crystals spikes.

I'll eventually incorporate them into my "Mermaid Tears" designs, but I needed to wear them NOW, so I glued them into bullet nose end caps using my trusty E6000. On the other end of the end cap I slid a head pin, and on the outside made a lope with which to attach the ear wire. And presto new earrings!

New Jewelry Supplies

I love to shop for new jewelry supplies- I'm feeling kind of rustic and mother earthy lately-along with feeling bigger-like I'm a bear packing it on for winter. OK, I digress, so the these are Sea Urchin spines that I've made into earrings. They came pre-drilled so were easy peasy, I just washed them, and then gave them a quick coat of Mod Podge glossy. And presto- new earrings. I think I'll be making some more to give as Xmas gifts this year.
