Bode and his BFF have regular playdates. Despite being much bigger than Popeye, Bode is definitely the beta to Popeye's alpha. Popeye's parents are the friends that took Bode for three weeks while we were in the hospital and then recovering from Covid in January- something I will always be so grateful for.

Portrait of Bode
I've been able to pursue a lot of different art projects with the advent of the pandemic quarantine. My next proposed project is a painting of Bode. I've been shooting reference photos and I think I've narrowed it down to one of these, which one do you like better?
Haven't decided what medium I'll work in, but most likely it will be acyclic or guache. Stay tuned!

Painting of Bode, maybe
Since March, when the quarantine for the pandemic began I've spent a lot of time in my studio experimenting with different art and crafts techniques. So far I done a deep dive into collage, decoupage, garden totems, and doll making. I haven't done any painting in years and that is up next. I'd like to do a painting of Bode, but I'm having a hard time getting good reference photos. These are a few that I've taken recently. Not sure any of them will work. But, my oh my isn't he a handsome boy!

Without Dog
I'm surprised we've held out this long. Bode died in July and we have never gone this long without a dog in the family and usually two. Not sure why we are waiting. I look at all the adoption sites, and a bunch of dogs have piqued my interest, but we can't pull the trigger. There must be a reason.

Handsome Bode
Bode Arden-Lamenzo |
Anyway, we've always been a two dog family. But I think we'll stay a one dog family for a bit longer. Bode is easy to travel with - loves car rides, and managing one dog is a lot easier.
Bode had a very rough start in life, his previous owner kept him crated so much that he couldn't sit and his rump muscles were severely underdeveloped. For the first couple of years we owned him we was unable to wag his tail. He is also very water opportunistic, he sees even a tiny puddle of water and he is lapping it up which leads us to suspect that he didn't have much water available to him when he was growing up.
Bode is a kind, handsome gentleman and we love him so very much.
